The Balloon flights and training are operated out of the Algarve Region with its diverse landscape.

The operation is run by Helena and Fernando Sa, an enthusiastic husband and wife team with an infectious love for the freedom of flying with the wind.

Helena is the Chief Pilot and administrator and an experienced balloonist. She was born in South Africa and began ballooning as crew in the early 90's before coming to the UK and gaining her CAA licence in 2001.

She has gone on to fly in several parts of the world and loves the fun and freedom offered by sport balloon flying. She is also an enthusiastic teacher and now offers balloon pilot training courses in addtion to the wonderful pleasure flights available.

Helena's husband, Fernando, runs crewing requirements and looks after the financial and legal side of the business. He is as enthusiastic about following Helena across country with the retrieval crew as Helena is about flying the balloons!

The equipment, facilities and licencing are governed by stringent UK and Portuguese CAA legislation and more than meet both of these governing bodies requirements.

A very professional, but free spirited and fun operation, offering wonderful airborne experiences that will not be forgotten.

Among the launch sites, perhaps one of the areas of most appeal is the foothills of the Monchique Mountains.

Gentle early morning flights begin in the foothills and traverse the barrocal hills, taking in the wonderful views and auromas of the changing landscape of hills and fields filled with orange and lemon orchards, from your bird like perch in the balloon drfiting lazily above.

You will also overfly sprawling villas, tiny villages and the ancient megalithic sites of the area.

Close by there is also Lagos aerodrome nearer the coast, where accommodation can be arranged for excellent rates and managed by the Algarve Airsports Centre.

The charming and historic coastal resort town of Lagos itself, offers a wealth of local activities and a wide variety of restaurants with alfresco dining and a safe but lively nightlife.
